Dynecon / Application dependency mapping
Know the impact before the move.
Migrations, consolidation and retirement decisions depend on understanding how applications communicate. Dynecon connects applications, services, machines and network paths into a reviewable dependency model.
From an application to its supporting infrastructure
Correlate application components with servers, virtual machines, switch ports and other infrastructure. Record listening services, remote connections, ports and protocols. Group related components into migration or affinity groups so a proposed move can be evaluated as a service change.
Use complementary discovery methods
WMI and WinRM provide Windows context; SSH supports Linux and UNIX discovery; SNMP and platform APIs contribute network and appliance evidence. Flow records, DNS, hypervisor data, cloud APIs and existing inventory tools can fill gaps where direct access is limited.
Turn a diagram into a decision
Dependency diagrams show connections. Impact lists identify affected services and organizational owners. Together they support cutover planning, configuration review and the decision to consolidate or retire an asset. A diagram is evidence for engineering judgment, not a substitute for validation.
Maintain the application record
Scheduled discovery can track installed software, versions, services, configuration details and changing relationships. Webhooks and integrations can connect relevant changes to operational workflows. Collection depth and update frequency should match the environment’s access and governance requirements.
